You Can Change Your Life – You Can Create Your Dream

“If you are searching for the one person that will change your life, take a look in the mirror.”

For a long time I was searching for someone who would save me and help me. Even now, sometimes I catch myself thinking it would be so much easier if someone would just come with the magic stick and make everything perfect.

But there is no magic stick.

The truth is the only person that can ‘save’ my life is me. I have the power to create my reality: to create the dream life I want.

When I started searching for solutions for my chronic headaches, first it was all about finding the right specialist to help me. Even when looking in the realms of alternative medicine and holistic healing, I was thinking: I will find the right person who will fix me. They will tell me the right diet, the right exercise, the right life-style, they will do their tricks and I will be fixed. I will go to someone and they will fix me.

For a long time I was searching for a fix. And I was searching for a fix outside of myself.

Then I realized that there was no quick fix, not even a ‘long fix’, but a life-long journey of healing, discovery, improving, growing and creating.I realized that I had to search for the answers within myself.

Nobody can hold my hands and do it for me. I am the only one who is 24/7 with myself. I am the one who knows myself the best, therefore I am the best person to figure out what is the best thing for me.

I started making juices, eating more plants, journaling, saying affirmations, having conversations with myself in the mirror, and practicing self-love.

While I did seek the guidance of others – I got massages, went to various energy healers, participated in retreats, went to dance meditation classes, attended workshops and more – I actively participated in the process. While I trusted their knowledge and guidance, I wasn’t a passive receiver but an active participant in my healing.

I realized that it was much more than physical, but involved deep emotional work in the sub-conscious level.

I realized and accepted that my life was in my hands. I worked hard. I healed. The journey continues. I continue to grow. I continue to evolve. Healing and life is a process. A beautiful journey.

But if you want to heal, if you want a happy and healthy life, if you want to truly live, you have to take charge. It certainly doesn’t mean you have to do it alone.

Doctors (regular, holistic, functional and alternative) can help diagnose, give you a guide and in the best case help you to find out the root cause of your issues. Psychologists, counselors and coaches can listen and work through emotional drama and trauma. Energy healer can help with the energy level. Massage therapists, physical therapists and chiropractors can work with your physical body. Yoga teachers, pilates and fitness instructors, personal trainers and athletic coaches can help you getting into good shape. Books and youtube video can inform you about anything. Health and life coaches – like myself – can follow your journey, listen to your voice, empower you to find your answers, educate you to be able to make the right decisions for yourself, and support you along the way. Friends and family can provide an enormous emotional support system.

I absolutely encourage you to seek support and to create a support system. As a holistic health and happiness coach, I am of course biased about the power of coaching as I saw the incredible transformation it can bring into one’s life.

But in the end you have to be an active participate. No therapy, no coaching and no love from your family is enough if you passively sit back and relax.

There is no magic.

But there is you. You, your constant companion, loving friend and family member, your own support system – you can change your life.

If you think about it, it’s absolutely awesome that we all have the power to change our own lives. It is all us. We are doing it. We are great.

You can change your life. You can create your dreams.

That is empowering.
